Telephone Consultation

I have a check up via a telephone consultation next week. I am two years post AVR. Normally I have an ecg, bp check etc. These can't be done over the phone. I think I'm generally doing ok but I like these tests done to give me a bit of confidence. Strange times I know but I'm not a doctor and think it would be helpful for us both if I ask the right questions. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi. My husband had his annual check up by phone a couple of weeks ago. He has Dilated Cardiomyopathy and had an AVR a couple of years ago. It was actually easier than going to the hospital where they check weight and BP before waiting to see the consultant. And the outcome was the same as previous face-to-face reviews...tweak the tablets and have an echo then we’ll talk again. He’s never had an ECG at an annual review.

We have a BP machine at home and my husband uses it regularly, noting the results, so he had some factual data to give the consultant. If you can, it might be worth buying your own BP machine too.

So now, just waiting for an appointment for an Echo.

Thank you for your reply. I take my bp every Monday morning and record it, also my weight. So I shall have that to hand when he rings.

I had my phone consultation yesterday. It was a similar outcome to your husband's. A tweek of meds and an echo but this may not be until December at the earliest. See you next year if all's well after that.

So all's well and life is good.♥️
