I have Valvular Heart Disease,Angina and COPD. I also have Calcified Blood Vessels. I was reading that if you have Calcified Blood Vessels you might be better off by not taking any Calcium tablets. I'm not sure what to do about it, whether or not to take the Calcium tablets or not. I know that none of us are medically trained, but could anyone give me any advice on what to do about it. Take Care and Stay Safe everyone 🤞🤗🤗.Glo.xx

Hi Gjkas. I've chosen not to continue taking the adcal. I have heart disease but have decided to try and get the calcium needed from my diet. I believe that taking too much calcium could accelerate atherosclerosis??

Hi Red18 , yes what you said is similar to what I read in the British Heart Foundation book.

I've not taken my Alendronic Acid this morning because that does a very similar thing ( i think ).I'm going to eventually peter out the both of them. .

Thankyou for answering.

Good Luck and Take Care. Gjkas.

I take vitamin k2 and k4. These stop calcium from clogging your arteries. They say there like a mild calcium blocker but by all means look them up but always check it with a GP or pharmacist first before trying them

Good morning Tinker2015.

I looked up the vitamin K2 and they sound really good , just as you told me , they help stop blocking your Arteries up.

I ordered some this morning and they should be with me in a few days.

Thanks for your advice Tinker2015 👍xx

Hope this info will help. Everyone thinks differently about k2 but I am going to still take them

Hi Tinker 2015 .Sure your info to me will help. It's got a good Wright up..

We don't know until we try.

Its a mild type of a Calcium Channel Blocker.

I'm already on a Calcium Channel Blocker called Amlodipine. They make my legs and feet swell terrible..

The Vitamin K 2 Don't interact with the Amlodopine.

I asked my Cardiologist if I could come off the Amlodopine, but she said NO,because my heart wasn't strong enough to be without them.

I told her how swollen and painful my legs were. She said "well it's up to you. Your Heart ❤ or your Legs 🦵🦵. ".

Not much of a choice was it.

Who knows, perhaps in time,I will be able to come off the Amlodopine and just take the Vitamin K 2.

OOOH it would be lovely to be able to walk properly without the pain.

Yeah ,you keep taking them if you get on alright with them.

Thanks Tinker. Any info that you can get hold of. Send them on to me. xx

Im on the High Dose Amlodipine .

They wouldn't lower it for me. I'm also on Bisoprolol and Monomil XL High Dose 60 mg, the Trinitrate Spray that you spray under your tongue when the Chest Pains get bad. On a lot of other medications as well, because I've got Rheumatoid Arthritis,Osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis. On too much medication i think. And none of them help me really. Anyway.

Cheers Tinker2015 👍xx.
