This is the first time I have posted on this forum however I have been following it for the last few months and I have found it to be very helpful so here goes.
My husband had his heart attack in February and now has one stent.
The cardio team have switched some of his meds and he is now taking Eplerenone (25 mg) instead of Bisoprolol, he is also taking Ramipril (5 mg) from what we have read these 2 drugs shouldn’t really be taken together, just wondering whether anybody else is in this position ?
He will be receiving further blood tests in a couple of weeks which will check his kidneys (he has possible CKD).

I have been taking Eplerenone 25mg along with 7.5 to 10mg Bisoprolol for at least 3 years now !!! I also take Entresto and Aspirin. Recently Heart Nurse said to reduce Eplerenone to 25mg every other day rather than daily, this was due to large swings in my Blood Pressure seems to have worked around 115/60 with HR 58.
You have to remember we are all on meds for different reasons, I have Heart Failure have had Bypass Surgery and had a couple of Stents since Bypass, but overall in reasonable condition.
Hi Meg, I am currently on all three of the above mentioned as well as a couple more. Seems quite a common cocktail. Didn’t realise they are usually taken together. I’m under one of the top Cardiologists in Sheffield so assuming it’s right.
I also take both and eplerenone and dapaglifozin I take for 2 months ramipril I have already taken for 4 years after having a heart attack and having 3 stents these two new ones that I take for 2 months are giving me acute pain in the left forearm , I go to cardiologist so that maybe he can switch medications.
