I also have mild lvh and I started getting burning chest and general body discomfort after starting bp meds.I don't really get it now as I've got used to the meds.It never came on during exertion though but at rest in the evening.I've had all the tests but it was assumed to be a side effect. As to palpitations, absolutely I get those.I take 20mg of propanolol for those which has helped a lot.The consultant I saw wasn't at all concerned and my 5 day ecg was relatively clear with a small amount of arrhythmia.I'm back to GP care.I don't get breathless thankfully. What meds are you on and what tests have you had?

Hi, yes ,i appreciated your input last time too, just wondering if others have similar. Since i last posted, symptoms have got worse. Ive waited over a year for my cardio appt, and was told kast week it will be many months before my next one. Obviously due to the covid, which i appreciate is to be expected.

It hurts. We shrug it off thinking we've pulled a muscle or eaten something disagreeable. It begins to hurt a lot. We seek medical treatment. After scans and blood draws and consults, we're told we have a 'mild' or 'trivial' heart condition. Usually he/she doesn't explain exactly what 'mild' or 'trivial' means as regards our condition.

We travel home thinking 'How can he/she say something that hurts so badly is mild, is he/she suggesting I'm making a frivolous complaints of being unwell?!'

I have nothing but the highest regard for my cardiologist but when he termed my aortic valve scarring 'trivial', it took me commenting here on the forum to discover what medics call 'mild' and 'trivial' isn't at all a suggestion we're moaners - all it really means is we lucked out (or in my belief system, are blessed) and the damage is still at a low and manageable stage.

After that, 'trivial' became my Favourite Word for 2019:)

So, the next time I saw the cardiologist I made sure to ask him how I could work with him to keep my scarring 'trivial' and how to gauge the pain to use it as a warning signal as to when to become concerned things were progressing past the 'trivial' stage.

From my own experience mild and trivial are only bettered by 'unremarkable'.

Or, its just anxiety.

My cardiologist was constantly 'very reassured'....not sure I was though.Anyway, back to GP care as he discharged me due to a surfeit of feeling reassured.Thing is I told him about a twenty minute bout of all over the place arrhythmia which I have never had before and wasn't detected on my 5 day R monitor....that's because it never happened before. His response was to suggest I buy a Kardia and if I find anything interesting he'll be pleased to see me again!Good job I have a supportive GP!

Hi, yes i was advised to buy a kardia, which i did, about two years ago. Ive captured dozens of arrythmia episodes, including a fib. Great investment, especially as these episodes never occur when ive been given the nhs event recorders, for just a couple of days.

Really, that's interesting.Thing is my phone isn't compatible so not sure how that would work plus my ecg is a bit odd as I have some st depression due to the lvh.Again, they say it's nothing but it might affect what the kardia read out says.Did the doctor act on the results of what you recorded?

Hi, you dont need a phone with this one, i use it along side my tablet. As most of my arrythmias happen at night time,at home, this suits my needs. And yes, when i next see my cardio, im hoping he will act on the results. My gps already sent him a few through. I had an ablation on my heart, for avnrt, ten years ago. Again, that arrythmia took years to prove. So i really think,in my case anyway, alive cors a god send.
