I take a lot of UTI s and I ordered cranberry supplements is it safe to take these if you take a low dose aspirin and Lipitor ? I took one yesterday and my arm came out in a bruise is it making my blood too thin?

Generally cranberry is not recommended with aspirin as both contain salicylic acid. I would suggest you ask your pharmacist for guidance as the dose if each is probably relevant.

Lemon barley water is meant to be good for UTIs and I think there are no contra-indications.

I do not think it is a good idea. If I recall correctly you were prescribed Aspirin post heart attack to reduce the risk of another. You should speak to your GP/cardiologist before stopping any prescribed medication.

Hello

I get a lot of UTI’s

You definitely do not take anything cranberry based with blood thinners

I have to go to GP for antibiotics

There is something else called D Manose

But with all supplements you must check with your GP pharmacist or consultants

I have been taking cranberry tablets for quite a few years now after a bout of cystitis and somebody told me to drink cranberry juice. I take Clopidogrel (not aspirin) as a platelet inhibitor. I have had no problems of any interactions between the cranberry and any of the medications I take. I have chronic kidney disease as well as heart failure and I like to think that the cranberry helps my kidneys out or at least prevents another bout of cystitis. It seems to have worked so far for me.

As somebody else said, the best person to ask is your GP and/or Pharmacist who would/should know about contraindications with different medications but you should not stop (or start!) any treatment without discussion with your health provider first!
