Is tiredness party of having heart failure and a heart attack? My 77 year old mum had a heart attack and heart failure 8 weeks ago...at the beginning she was absolutely exhausted and slept a lot. Now she’s not sleeping in the day but she is still Tired and yawns a lot. She has no other symptoms in terms of shortness of breath and bloating etc.
Should we accept this is the normal now or are there things she can do or take to give her abit more energy.
Any advise welcome

My own feeling is that working on your own rehab always helps after a heart attack, but you mention that she has other heart problems, too. There are some online rehab classes, but I wonder if a phone chat with GP would be most useful for her? Get some medical advice on much she should be doing.
Sorry. I missed an earlier post, when you said that your Mum had already sought professional advice from a cardiac nurse, and also knew about the online rehab classes. Sounds good.
I'm 57, with heart failure and tiredness is my main symptom. I'm asymptomatic otherwise. I'm never sure if it's the heart failure or the drugs treating it or a combination of both that cause the tiredness but it is normal for me.
Hi Tiredness is a pretty common symptom of Heart Failure, I believe some of it comes from Medication for some people.
I was told and it made sense. Yawning is the bodies reaction to the Brain saying hey you people in there, I need more Oxygen so Yawn and open your mouth wide so the Oxygen can rush in !!!
