does anyone suffer extreme tiredness every day.

I had a heart attack last December and had a stent fitted. I had another stent fitted in MArch. I have Angina which can cause chest pains even while not exercising, and use GTN spray. Usually sorts it but last weekend it did not and went to hospital for 2 days. But I do suffer extreme tiredness every day. Is this normal to suffer from tiredness whilst even not having an 'attack'

Hi I had a heart attack last week and got stent in , I'm ok just waiting to get echo scan and that will tell me the damage to my heart muscle. Have you had this scan yet? I should tell your Dr about it cause fatigue is a horrible thing

Personally I am concerned you are getting angina at rest. You need an explanation from a cardiologist for this. I am not medically qualified but having had angina and a quadruple bypass suspect you need further stents or even a bypass unless you have something like Prinzmetal's angina. You need to press for a proper explanation and resolutiom.

Fatigue can be caused by a number of drugs. What cocktail are you on?

I had 2 stents fitted (was told it would be 3!). My angina is also only at rest and classed as unstable angina. I also suffer from fatigue, sometime very severe. Ask to be referred to a sleep clinic. I went last week and have had a call to go to see cardiologist. Hopefully if sleep apnea or similar is diagnosed maybe I can be treated and it will help. It would be worth bringing it to the attention of your GP or cardiologist.

Yes, my doc has put it down to tablets, waiting on a bypass as too many arteries blocked

Hello, angina at rest can be caused by Prinzmetal's angina (spasms in the coronary artery) and/or by microvascular angina (MVA). If the angina goes on and on, I would suspect MVA. A calcium channel blocker, e.g. amlodipine may help but you will need a high dose, and you should probably also take an ACE inhibitor. What drugs are you on? Tiredness and loss of energy go hand-in-hand with MVA, I think.

Did the hospital or paramedics say anything about your ECG? MVA may cause subtle signs of ischemia like ST-depression or T-wave flattening. In my experience hospital staff disregard such small abnormalities as insufficiently important but, if you go in hospital again, try asking if your ECG has indications of ischemia like those I mentioned.

I have been taking Bisoprolol for leaky mitral valve and that tablet definitely makes you feel extremely tired and fatigued, do you take this?

I had a triple heart bypass in April 2017 and suffered extreme tiredness the following summer. I had a number of blood tests and was extremely anaemic. The doctors did not like it when I took a liquid iron supplement so i stopped taking it until in December I had to have a inguinal hernia operation (in groin) and a haematologist advised me to take the supplement for 3 months. The supplement made a difference. It is important to have blood tests regularly to show the condition of your blood but my doctors did not like it , possibly because of cost(?). Exercise definitely made a difference to tiredness; the more I exercised the better I felt. I walked more and more until my hernia appeared (coincidence). My local hospital ran a heart rehabilitation exercise program twice every week for 12 weeks about 3 months after my op. By the way I was told by a surgeon that the bypass operation is the most popular op and a lot of people have the scar to show for it! Not something to be frightened of if ever you need it; I have 4 friends that have had it.
