Heart monitoring for 1 week

Hi, I'm having lots of episodes of fast heart rate and getting really out of breath easily sometimes just walking from room to room, worse going upstairs, when I was at work a few times it's got to the point where I can't speak normally for around 10 minutes. Had a 24 hr heart monitor on last summer which showed a few pauses and sometimes racing heart. As I'm feeling worse I'm going to have a monitor for one week to see what's going on. If anyone has had this is it something I can take on and off to get a shower? Any information would be great thanks

Depends on the type of monitor, the ones I've had for 7 and 14 days I could take them off. The best one was a small unit attached with one electrode and 2 short leads, very easy to take on and off and no buttons to press.

Ask for non allergenic stickies, easier on the skin !

Hi,

I had a 24 hour monitor recently. It consisted of wires held in place by sticky pads ( I had the non allergic ones) then a pack which hung around the neck. It wasn’t too restrictive, but I did look a bit lumpy! It wasn’t possible to have a shower with it on. Hope this helps.
