The letter!

Hi all hope you are all managing with yourselves. We just got our letters today,telling us we are in the "shielded group" I am not sure how i feel about it. It would seem that us shielded folk can try to get food delivered from various supper markets,if you can!! However the real deal is, that we are more likely to get the worst of it if we catch it!! So heres hoping for all of us.Letter or not stay well and positive and wash your hands

Try local shops as well for deliveries. Lots of areas have vol support groups doing shopping for otherstoo. Your local council will have a list.

so how do we know if we are going to get a letter. I live alone and so I shop alone

The letters are not going out as quickly and efficiently as we were led to believe they would, and it seems some who should receive letters aren't. In the end it's up to the individual to decide if they are going to shield or not if no letter drops on the mat.

If you're worried (and who isn't these days, you're not alone in that) and would prefer to have someone pick-up and drop off your shopping and prescriptions, you can try contacting your council (try their website first) to see if you can get on their list. They might have contact details posted for local volunteer groups willing to do shopping and prescription drops.

Now that you have got your letter supermarkets will contact you and offer you slots.

I got one from Tesco first ( bought a coat from them on line years ago), one from Asda ( shopped with them on line a couple of Christmasses ago), nothing from Morrison’s ( who I have shopped with on several occasions) and one from Sainsbury’s ( who I have never shopped with. Don’t know how they have my email address. They invited me to register and promised priority delivery.)

I’m shopping with Asda as they gave me a recurring slot.
