I take bisoprolol 2.5mg once a day and i also have a blue inhaler. I was wondering if its ok to use the blue inhaler while taking beta blockers? Ive read that you need to be careful using beta agonist asthma inhalers along with beta blockers. Im asking because ive started feeling a little out of breath lately and may need to take it at some point.

Bisoprolol and asthma inhalers
I. Am on Bisoprasol. 2.5 and I had 2 blue Inhalers after getting bronchitis last year. Should be fine. But just phone boots and check with the pharmacist
hi danni i am very symptomatic to many drugs including bisoprolol. on a recent hospital stay they again tried me on bisoprolol which resulted me being put on a nebuliser a few times. needless to say they stopped it. the general consensus is asthmatics shouldn’t take beta blockers. anyone correct me if that’s wrong but i certainly can’t. i have very mild asthma and haven’t needed inhalers since heart attack 2 years ago and i still had a reaction. hope this helps stay safe danni ❤️shiona
I have very mild asthma too and only ever needed my blue inhaler to open me up a bit but thats when i used to smoke over a year ago. Ive been on bisoprolol since sept 19 for sinus tachy. Cardiologist was supposed to do a telephone appointment last week but didnt even call me. Rang his office and they said they would call me when they look into it. Still waiting.....instead have an appointment letter now for September 2020!!! That means a year on beta blockers without a review and no way of disussing this with anyone due to current events. I dont know if its the bisoprolol all of a sudden making me slightly breathless or not. I have thought about whether i may of contracted this covid19. Hope not..... hopefully i wont need to take the inhaler but if i do and im symptomatic i will call 111. You are correct that asthmatics shouldnt take beta blockers but thats all they could prescribe me at the time as i was pregnant. Plus its supposed to have a low side effect rate and is tolerated by most.. oh what strange times........
sorry I really don't know, best to ask your pharmacist.
Hi
Did the Medical Professional who prescribed the Beta Blocker know you have a Blue Inhaler ?? If that was the case it sounds as though it is OK. But it's easy to check, phone the Surgery or the Pharmacy they are the best people to advise.

I was told I couldn’t have beta blockers coz I have asthma , a couple of different medical professionals have said the same, but my cardiologist definitely wouldn’t prescribe vets blockers. I thought it was more coz of the asthma though rather than the inhalers. I would double check if I were you.
