Theres no doubt, with vivid 19, zero contact = zero transmission.
It's the future, so embrace it. I know we all wish and hope that in some way we're not in the 'higher risk of death' group, but the reality is that we're on this forum for a reason and compromised cardiology plus any other comorbidities we're lumbered with, dictate that we should socially isolate now and for the forseable future.
Of course its excruciatingly inconvenient, scary and stressful, but it really is the only option. The more that accept and diligently practice a hermit -like lifestyle , the quicker we get over this and the fewer the losses.
There's really no time left for indecision. To quote the strap line from a global sportswear brand 'Just do it'. Social isolation (and diligent handwashing) could save your life or someone dear to you. It will certainly reduce your risk significantly.
Stay safe.

On a forum predominantly comprised of older and higher risk individuals then that's a message that's likely to be strongly endorsed.
But what about people in their teens and twenties? People who are overwhelmingly focussed on the whole "boy meets girl" thing! How likely is it that they will practise a "hermit-like lifestyle", and not just for a few days or weeks, but possibly for a year or even longer?
I have read that the epidemiological model underpinning the government's strategy (of virus suppression via social isolation), actually assumes that 30% of the population largely ignore the guidelines. I hope that's correct because I don't believe any strategy that depends on the entire population studiously resisting any social contact, stands a snowball in hell's chance of success!
Dead right, Chappychap. There's scant evidence of a compliant and obedient populus with daily evidence of systematic 'over-shopping' despite daily reassurance that we are still living in a society where food is plentiful, providing we maintain normal consumption patterns.
Retailers need play a significantly more assertive/ corrective role to stem this anti-social behaviour which is currently without sanction or consequence
There was some press coverage today of the epidemiological modelling quoting only a 50% level of public cooperation which is both disappointing and worrying.
Of course I don't have any of the answers for the big picture, so thank you for highlighting that it's not just my demographic and that it's the bigger society. I do have unemployed children , one of which is currently on 14 day lockdown, another who was a cocktail waiter until yesterday so I guess I can claim to have a reasonably broadbased empathy for those enduring more challenging lives than myself.
