Breathlessness advice

Hello. Just wanted to get a bit of advice

I'm 49. Some plaque in the LAD, but ok. Previous to angiogram angina. (Fingers crossed been ok since)

About 3 weeks ago, I started to park the car a little way from work. And walk 10 mins in and then back after.

Its semi flat. A slight incline on way home part.

Some days fine. But a couple of days, including yesterday, I get back to the car and I'm really struggling to breathe.

Like every breath is being fought for. Like an asthma attack with out all the wheeze.

I'm ok after about 5 mins sitting in car, trying to catch my breath and deep breath.

Yesterday I took my oxygen stats (using my phone) while waiting to be able to drive and it bad dropped to 90. But after about 5 mins back up to 99.

I didnt have any angina symptoms.

I do have asthma, but well controlled and i always take a puff in the morning when I leave car, as cold air can be a bit tricky.

However I'm not very active at all...I potter around work and home all ok...around shops all ok. I know i need to exercise and the walk to work is the start of me trying to be more so.

I'm wondering if this incline is really making my breathing so bad? My heart isn't over racing. It's about 122 near the end of walk. Resting is usually around 60. As on the usual cocktail of heart drugs...lol

Just wanted to hear if anyone else had breathlessness or is this part of trying to get healthy from being a couch potato 😊

I have multiple heart conditions including rheumatic heart, and recurrent pericarditis. Breathlessness with reasonably quick recovery (like you describe) is my warning signal something is going on and I need to report it to my GP and cardiac nurse soon as.

Until you've got it checked out, use the car park at work, avoid inclines, and don't exert yourself. Only a medical professional is able to determine if your breathlessness is down to needing to up your fitness level, or if there is something more serious going on. Hopefully the doctor will be able to let you know things are fine and you just need to 'get fit' following a sensible regime - but if it's something more serious, he/she will find it and you'll be on the road to treatment and recovery.

Please update this discussion once you've been checked out.
