Left Ventricular systolic dysfunction diagnosed after stroke on 21 July 2019 aged 65

I wonder if anyone is in the same position as me? Stroke on 21 July 2019, thankfully with no physical disability suffered - echocardiogram in August 2019 showed Left Ventricular Systolic dysfunction - referred to cardiologist and first available appointment scheduled for 11 May 2020. GP says as I'm on Losartan, Lercanidipine, Bisoprol 7.5mg, Avorvastatin and Rivaroxaban, everything should be fine going forward. I've now had the 11 May appointment rescheduled for 24 August 2019. I've had a couple of palpitation episodes with AV ongoing and feel tired most of the time.

I just feel I've been left out on a limb. No forward plan or advice other than from the GP. Wondering if I should bite the bullet and have a private consultation - my family is pushing for this as they are worried for me.

Is everyone waiting so long for follow ups?

Hi,

I had a heart attack in November 2019 and had a double stent inserted. I have been diagnosed with LVSD too. I have not be advised of any follow up with Cardiologist as of yet and wonder if I will. I see my GP and the heart failure nurse and it seems that they are more interested in Quality of Life and managing things with medication.

I understand how you feel being in limbo as you are. Try to speak to your GP to find out the extent of the LVSD before continuing..you may be told it is manageable with medication and is of not anything to be concerned with.
