A quite technical post ( sorry )

Just posting this for Michael so I can be clear as to my individual case of Stent and Bypass surgery..

I was taken to the Cath Lab for PCI, previous information was a bypass grafting to my LAD using LIMA and a Vein graft to my Obtuse Marginal branch of my Circumflex.

On my next Angiogram the Cardiologist said the LIMA to the LAD was incorrect and in fact the LIMA was to a Diagonal branch of the LAD not the LAD !!!

Technical Report

Today we were able to Balloon and stent the LAD with two drug eluding stents using IVUS guidance and achieved a very good angiographic result.

I am fairly certain following todays intervention that he will be rendered Angina Free, if this is not the case I will look at opening his RCA which will be a complex intervention.

The procedure was performed via the right radial artery using an EBU 3.5 guiding catheter. After wiring the LAD we were able to pre-dilate it with a 2.0 balloon and we then deployed a 3.0 x 18 Xience stent in the Proximal LAD. Using IVUS guidance we then ballooned in the mid LAD and deployed a 2.5 Promus stent which was pre dilated to High Pressure of 2.5 NC balloon. The Final angiographic result was Very Good.

Final note was

I would hope following revascularisation of his LAD his EF will improve ( it didn't ) but any Angina pain has gone completely. RESULT

now I think I have had a part bypass to my native LAD and my native LAD been stented a couple of times !!

Regards

Original bypass op was June 2015 and stent intervention was March 2018. Cardiologist did say he wasn't surprised that in between bypass and stent intervention that I hadn't felt any better !!! I just left it at that !!!

The LAD has a number of branches that vary in number between 2 and 9. These are named D1, D2, etc. and supply blood to the walls of the left ventricle. The most prominent is usually DI and I imagine this is where the bypass occurred. The main thing is to keep everything clear with adherence to lifestyle changes and prescribed medication.
