Has anyone taken CoQ10 to aid heart failure? If so I would be interested in how you got on with it. Was it prescribed or did you buy it yourself ?
I would be very grateful for any feedback. Many thanks.

I am taking the ubiquinol form of CoQ10 to offset the inhibition of its synthesis by statin and for it's supposed heart-health benefits. I take 300mg/day after having seen suggestions of 200-400mg/day. I am still alive!
I don't have heart failure but do have microvascular angina.
Ubiquinol 150 mg daily to off-set the suppression of Coenzyme Q10 production by statins.
Seemed logical to to replace something that with my limited knowledge, was doing me good.
No side effects to the best of my knowledge and experience. Think its categorised as a food supplement so probably not available on prescription. I get mine from my local health food store.
Not sure how much clinical evidence exists but doubtless someone will share their knowledge.
I looked into this but apart from the sites that were selling it I couldn't find any site that actually confirmed its usefullness. On sites that wasn't selling it all I could find was it could "possibly" or it "may" help do I would ask you cardiologist.
I am not on statins but take Ramipril and Carvedilol . I don’t see my Cardiologist until June so I think I’d better ask him....especially as it seems to be so expensive. I was just hoping it might up my EF a bit .
Thank you all for your opinions
