Well I’ve started back on a phased return, fairly sedentary work in the office but up at 7 to head in. By 12:30 when i Was heading off I was knackered. But all last week when I was doing a 2 mile brisk walk I was fine. Is that the endorphins kicking in for the walk. Didn’t sleep too well either last night so am still tired this morning. It’s only been 6 weeks since my ha and stents so early days I suppose.

First half day back in the office
Hello rowing 58
Going for a walk is good for the mind and its stressful going back to work your bound to feel a bit anxious on the first day which will make you feel exhausted.
It's not just the physical effects from your heart attack but the emotional and mental effect it has on you are often underestimated.
It is very early days so take it easy.
That’s why you have a phased return to work:). It’s exhausting, getting up because you have to, a journey in and then the business and stresses of work.
I remember how tired I was when I first started full time work aged 21 and I employ young people and they are shattered when they start.
Take care
Hi Rowing. That mirrors my return to work fatigue experience. I went back after 6 weeks too and was spark out when I’d done half a day! It did take a month or so before I felt able to tackle a full week and a bit longer before my brain fog lifted. I don’t think anyone noticed the brain fog. Maybe they were too polite or maybe I’m usually slow! Stick with it but take it easy and be kind to yourself. You’ll get there in the end.
Today was a bit easier apart from an upset tum playing up. It’s weird, I never thought it would take that long to get back into the swing, I was almost assuming a week on half days then back into full days, but I’ll play it by ear.
Thanks all.
