Hi - I was diagnosed with SVT a few months ago. I am on 2.5 mg of Nebivolol twice a day. I wondered about others’ experience of these following symptoms I now have. My heart rate goes up considerably when I lie down on either side and ‘twist’ my stomach in any way. When this happens I sometimes sweat heavily in bed. Why does this heavy sweating occur? Things are usually eased by lying on my back. I now seem to burp and pass wind far more frequently since the SVT diagnosis. Often this bodily process stops my heart racing. I know there is a link between heart and stomach involving the vagus nerve but I’m not clear what’s going on with these symptoms and the best way to remedy them, or if it’s possible? In general when I’m up and about the symptoms largely go until I lie down again at night. Any thoughts or experiences you can share? Many thanks and have a wonderful New Year.

My symptoms - vagus nerve
Hi. With symptoms like these I’d explore digestive issues. Are you on any other medication? Are you eating differently since your diagnosis? The Vagus nerve does link heart and digestion. But then it also links a load of other things - like speech.
If these issues started around the same time as you started to take Nebivolol - an upset stomach is a known side effect. Would be worthwhile talking to your doctor as there are other alternatives. Good luck.
Hi there, I’ve the exact same thing! Diagnosed with an SVT, had a ablation under general but after two weeks it went back so hoping for another soon! Did you discover anything to help? Thanks
Working on my diet: no meat, no dairy, no gluten. Lots of green veggies, pulses, whole foods - let’s see! I ate far too much dairy which is inflammatory to our systems. Consulted with an experienced nutritionist whose father has heart rhythm problems that she helped him with.
