Diastolic heart failure - managing it

I was diagnosed with diastolic HF in 2017 with a preserved EF. Since then. It has deteriorated and in the last 12 months my symptoms have become much more noticeable... breathing is shallower and laboured unless I’m stationery; fatigue has increased significantly and I have frequent light headed episodes. Recently I’ve noticed my tummy had become a bit bloated. I cannot have diuretics because my kidneys are not great and I have a circulation problem in my right leg (the femoral vein was accidentally severed in the groin during surgery, leaving it inactive from the groin to the knee - the blood has been using secondary veins for 14 years and I now have circulatory issues). At night I gave the usually ‘concrete chest’ and The perpetual ‘cough’ has become intolerable in the last 6 months - it’s like I have fluid but can’t cough it up. I have gone from a very fit, active female to someone who can barely get to the top of the stairs without struggling for breath. The information I have been given is sparse and inadequate to help me get my head around. This condition. I’m told there is no remedy, and that it must be ‘managed’ but no indication as to ‘HOW’ I manage this other than ‘when you feel under par, draw back and rest’ - helpful! NOT!!! I think I’m looking for informative advice that will allow me to process the situation and help me form a ‘plan’ to manage it... there seems to be little out there and even life expectancy is vague... if anyone has advice or tips, I’d welcome them

Would love to help but I feel pretty much the same. Plus very swollen lower legs. I have seen a cardiologist (private due to no Nhs apts)) who prescribed Bisoprolol and ramipiral, which has helped the A.f and racing heart. But as you say, I feel worn out and I don't actually want to sit around doing nothing. Yesterday after 4 months I received an nhs cardio appt, so if any info is worth passing on I'll do so. Happy New year. Jane

I take furesomide, whicch seems to keep my legs and ankles from swelling to much.
