High ferritin levels

I have been having blood tests as my ferritin (iron ) levels in my blood are very high. A level of 800 if that means anything.

I am on all the usual heart failures medicines and dont know if they have contributed to the high levels.

They cant find any obvious reason why by body is retaining so much iron.

My GP has recommended I have blood taken out of body 2 or 3 times a week for a month and then once a week thereafter.

I am very concerned about this and it seems just problem after problem since I was diagnosef with HF a year ago.

Has anyone else experienced high ferritin levels and how was it treated.

Thanks for your reply.

I have read that article and although I have not been told that, the treatment that I have been advised whereby blood is removed at regular intervals is the same,
