My husband who is 36 had his operation 3 days ago (no HA). His blood pressure has been low since then (now 90/60 but was lower 2 days after the op). He never had any problems with his BP until now. He is cold most of the time and shivers a lot. He is drinking a lot of fluid but that's not helping. We asked the doctor about it but they are not concerned.
Has anyone experienced it? Is there anything he can do to help it increase?
Thank you for reading.

Hello and welcome to the forum! As said it is early days yet. Your husband has had major surgery and it will take a number of weeks/months to recover. BP can be down a bit in the early days and may take 6 - 12 weeks to fully stabilise. This is why sometimes medication is titrated upwards as time passes. If all goes well he should be home in a few days. The focus then has to be on recovery as whilst his BP is at the low end of normal there is no need to worry.
Is your hubby still in CCU or has he moved to HDU ? Just I remember when I was in CCU with a constant Nurse looking after me they only got concerned when Heart went into prolonged AF. like thatwasunexpected said 90/60 is within range, that's what quite a few of us have as a normal blood pressure even though it's a little abnormal to the population at large LOL. Try to relax great care in CCU and they are Experts in Post Operative Care.
