I've just been informed that a loop recorder I'm needing fitted is a 3-4 month wait.
Its been suggested to go private, anyone had experience of doing this? I've no idea where to start that process.... GP perhaps?

I went private. I googled local private hospitals, picked the closest and contacted them direct. You can also be referred by your GP. Be prepared for some raised eyebrows and judgemental looks from NHS staff should you go back.
I had to wait three months for a recorder as the appointment went astray. Waiting for results but generally able to cope - Heart Failure Clinic this week will tell me results.
If you are very concerned and have the money though, go private. At least it will ease your mind.
I didn’t have to wait that long but if you’re concerned why not ring the cardio clinic and ask if there are any cancellations if you could be considered for them. It’s worked for me in the past with other clinics. Good luck
Oh blimey Bigdan I have just been referred for an implantable loop recorder as urgent by cardiologist. It has taken me 5 months to get to this point. I hope I won't be waiting another 3-4 months waiting for this procedure!! Good luck to you wether you choose NHS or private treatment
