CARVEDILOL

Hello

I have ventricular dysfunction following treatment with chemo and Herceptin

(Following breast cancer) My echo was at about 35%.

I was referred to Cardiologist who about a month ago started me on Bisoprolol...lowest dose with the aim of keeping my HR at 60 This completely floored me .....I had no energy at all. But BP was steady.

Went to GP who changed to Carvidilol and I have taken that for about a week. Last night my HR went up to nearly 80. Have gone back to Bisoprolol with GP’s permission.

Has anyone had any experience of Carvedilol ?

I should add that I am 76 .........Which explains the ramble.

Hello Lottie8

I was on bisoprolol 2.5mg once a day, but was constantly freezing cold.

Got it changed to Carvedilol, now on 6.25 mg twice a day, no longer feeling the cold

I've no other adverse experience with either of these beta blockers, you may have an issue with not being on the correct dosage, getting it right can be a time consuming process which can frequently be a bit of trail and error

Thank you for your reply. I have decided to stick with Carvedilol and see how it all pans out.
