Hello and welcome to the forum!

I note that two of for medications are for anxiety. Had the Atenenol been prescribed for BP or the palpitations?

First off - are you leading a healthy lifestyle? Palpitations are more common in those who are overweight or obese. You should be eating a healthy Mediterranean diet avoiding excess caffeine and alcohol (keep within guidelines), and keeping within the healthy BMI range.

Next are you getting enough exercise. Walking is a good start. If you feel stressed and anxious go for a walk and get some fresh air. Take in the autumn colours, the misty mornings and appreciate the beauty of nature.

And DON'T smoke!

If you take in the above and there is no improvement talk to your GP - he may be able to refer you to a talking therapy or similar.

Good luck!

Hi Orange, glad you are back. Have not seen any posts from you since 2 months back. Gave us all quite a scare. Hope you are doing as well as you can be.

Hey Jimmy, yes doing good riding my bike again. Yes it was a bit of a scare but after another angiogram they found nothing new and said my results were the same as my first HA.

So another year of blood thinners.

How are you doing?

Glad to hear that. It's still a daily struggle despite being 6 months out from a median RCA STEMI. Still suffering from residual problems due to incomplete revascularisation. They refused to stent the LAD D2 and the distal RCA despite being rated at 90% occlusion. They rather take a conservative approach with meds and lifestyle modifications to prolong the need for any sort of intervention.

Second opinion wanted a more aggressive approach given my age (45). However I have to defer to the cardiologists following me in order to keep myself in the system. In a way, I'm waiting for the symptoms to worsen or the next MI before they are willing to intervene.

It's posts like yours which have kept me sane and provided me a sense of perseverance to find some will to eke out some normality to my life.

To hear that you had a second was shocking but relieved and glad that you are back and good.

All the best.

Anxiety is a burden. Have you tried relaxation mp3s and mindful meditation. Palpitations are very common for all sorts of reasons and once you are aware of your heart beat can become a vicious circle.

It is a big step to admit your anxieties and concerns and I'm sorry you have to read a couple of facetious responses which though amusing to many will not help you.

OK. If it's not improving, may I suggest you return to your doctor as soon as possible.

My concern is, if you are experiencing these symptoms after masterbation, it begs the question, could you develop even more serious symptoms if you had full blown sex with a partner which is usually much more physically demanding?

That may actually be safer because someone would be there to call for medical assistance for you just in case.

I'm confused by the treatment you're receiving for anxiety. Have you been feeling anxious and if so, have you found that masturbating helps to alleviate the anxiety?

Let your GP know that you're not feeling any better and don't think the medication is working.

Hopefully your medication will be reviewed and you'll start to feel better - afterall, there's no point in taking these strong medications if it's not improving your quality of life.

All the best going forward.

Why not give the BHF nurses a call to discuss your worries...

Michael JH is absolutely right Sufix,

I know you probably feel either fed up, embarrassed or reluctant for whatever reason to go back to your doctor or speak to the BHF nurses but believe me, there is nothing you can say that they've not heard before.

If you were a health professional, I'm sure you would want to hear from your patient so you'd know what was working and what wasn't?

Please, please, put all your reservations to one side and if it's difficult for you to actually say the words, write them down and hand the note to your doctor or nurses ok.

Even as qualified and/or retired health professionals, it would not be right for any of us on this forum to give a diagnosis as we may be completely wrong, not to mention, it may be your body responding to one of your meds, a combination of your meds or indeed, something else you're eating, drinking or massaging into your skin that's reacting to one or all of your meds.

Request an appointment with the BHF nurses as soon as possible to get the ball rolling.

Let us know how you get on. We're all keen to learn from each other's experiences.

All the best going forward. We're all rooting for you.

Surely you should be discussing your problem with your GP and not an open forum. Did you really need to explain the reason that you’re having pain in such detail? Also if you’re having this pain for most of the day then you should indeed be talking to a heart nurse/specialist.

He has to say what has caused the pain. Surely in this day and age it s not a delicate subject.

I’ve got a very open mind, trust me but who is even qualified to answer this question on here? Something as private, should be discussed privately with either the gp or cardio team. I have my thoughts on why the person posted it.

Possibly but others are giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Just wondering have you had previous ECGs and their findings. A stress ECG might be appropriate.

Drink a lot of water and take one pill a day it should stop then also stop masturbating for at last 6 months its not healthy it can cause depression it can cause anxiety and can also cause sharp chest pain like you are experiencing

That's all I have to say Hope it works.

First immediately stop watching porn or thinking about sex. It does damage to our body as Everytime we ejaculate we looses precious electrochemical nutricious fluid of body which is responsible for physique building, charm, health, memory intelligence building, strength etc ,as result our body physique, heart, brain, lungs, health weakens and if we continue this frequently it will have severe consequences .Eat good food which enhances this fluid ,retain semen it will cure you with time , you regain everything .
