Due to have pacemaker replaced next month,it`s only local anaesthetic, does anyone know if I`ll feel up to driving myself home afterwards?

The BHF website says you should not drive for a week after having a pacemaker fitted and I would imagine the same applies for a replacement one. You could check with the BHF nurses or DVLA.

My sister in law had a replacement fitted and was not allowed to drive for some time afterwards.

I think my sister in law was jinxed though - this is an absolutely true story the first pacemaker didn;t help her at all and the GP couldn;t understand it. After weeks of being told to basically get on with it the consultant discovered pacemaker 1 had never been switched on! She then had to wait weeks to get the replacement appointment.....
