It runs for 16 mins and Dr Sanjay explains HF so clearly and concisely and will hopefully allay a lot of fears associated with HF.

I did just that and the video is excellent. Really informative, helpful and strangely comforting! Also spoken in language that is not 'doctor'. Thanks for posting link, it was worth the effort finding it.
Am so glad you found it useful. You should check out his other videos on medications, he has done one for Aspirin and another on Statins. Also one on the patient questioning the doctor as why so many medications are prescribed (luckily I had already done this and reduced my meds by more than half). Wish he was my Cardiologist.
He is my Cardiologist and he is amazing.
After two and a half years of getting no answers from my Cardiologist, I found him through the internet. I asked my GP to refer me to him privately and saw him at the Nuffield in York.
In that initial consultation he answered so many questions and provided the support necessary to allow me to stop drugs that were causing considerable side effects.
Are you aware that he actually offers online & telephone consultations?
Do you still see him privately or were you able to go on his NHS list?
I have just consulted him again privately with some ongoing issues He is now investigating whether I have developed a seperate, but related condition.
I would not be able to afford the tests I need privately, so he is transferring me to the NHS. I will not be jumping any queues or getting the tests any earlier but have obviously seen him earlier than I would have done if I had not paid.
His Consultation fee is not extortionate and in my opinion the progress I have made since first consulting him has been worth every penny.
That's good news that you can transfer. I don't know much about him but I have heard he's got a good reputation. His videos are simplistic but that is heaps better than those that drone on. (also helps that he's a dishy doc!!!) ☺
The most important thing for me is that he really listened to what I was saying and treated my explanation of my symptoms with respect.
He explained what was happening to my heart, why it was happening and how to treat it effectively without resorting to the whole range of drugs thrown at me after my HA.
You are so lucky to have him as your Cardiologist. Yes, I saw from his video that he can be contacted for advice. I will see what happens at my next Cardiologist appointment in November and if necessary I will contact him.
Thanks so much for posting this. For the first time I understand what was going on when I had so much fluid on my lungs. No one has explained HF so clearly before.
Also found it explained why the A&E doc kept checking my toes the night I was admitted and kept on ECG all night.
Also interesting that my HF consultant regards me as good as cured with an EF output of 43%. Admittedly large increase on the 17% when I was admitted to A&E by my GP but she makes me feel I should be 100% when actually I am exhausted half the time!
Yes, I was impressed with the way he explained everything. Especially the relationship with the kidneys as I had not been told that. I think the medication we have to take, although good for the heart, not good for us with all the side effects. You should check out his other videos on Aspirin, Statins, BNP and taking too much medication. I was on 13 different medications a day and some of those were twice a day. I took all the boxes to my GP and discussed every one with him and managed to get rid of half and also had a couple of others reduced as side effects were just too much to cope with and my quality of life was severely impacted. Still have side effects but not nearly as bad as they were before.
