Can gas/trapped wind cause palpitations?

I have stents installed 4 months ago and have to burp myself like a baby (or wife does it) as i get pains all over my chest. Walking, swinging arms helps too, but wind now is very unpleasant. My guess is it could easily cause palpitations.

I get very painful episodes of" gas" mostly at night,GP prescribed Omeprazole.Brilliant! Ask your GP if you can give it a try.

I also suffered from trapped wind and flatulence which gave me quite severe pain in the chest, which at times made me anxious, Doctor put it down to taking Aspirin and Clopidogrel. She gave me Lansoprazole and Peptac which eased it a bit, but now off Aspirin as my year is up I am hoping it will get better.

Hi ss017. Hubby was prescribed Omeprazole which was a life saver ref the gassy issue!! Like cowparsley says, ask your GP if he'll prescribe it. All the very best to you xxx

Hello ive been experiencing something like this ive noticed that after palpitation episodes i either need to pass gass or have a bowel movment. The only thing i was diagnosed with was left temporal lobe epilepsy.

Minaniz I have the same problem, palpitations followe by passing gas or bowel movement. My heart goes up to 165bpm, really scary. Have you found any ideas or solutions? The epilepsy, was this related? I ask because when I have this episodes I also sometimes get a stabbing pressure in head

Get your thyroid checked out. Sounds hyper to me
