Problems with aspirin and Clopidogrel and Ranitidine

Morning folks, I had a stent fitted in March this year have been taken off some off the Meds but have had problems with stomach pains and was put on omeprazole worked fine for 30 days then the pain came back so was put on Lansoprazole that worked for a while and back came the pain + they suddenly realized that there is an interaction with Clopidogrel so I was taken off that but left with a shooting headache pain that comes and goes above my right eye or sometimes my ear, I have been put on Ranitidine 150mg, which seems to work still have a headache that comes and goes for a few seconds throughout the day , this is all down to the Asprin, still get a bit breathless on my daily walk, but it is better than before, this could be down to Clopidogrel, and my legs still ache still that's life at 73 Bet Mike Jagger doesn't get all these problems, anyone else get problems with theses tablets I've also noticed that the Ranitidine takes my appetite away everything tastes the same

I had problems with almost all the tablets ; had lots of swaps and am now off almost everything except aspirin, ranitidine and a steroid but the aspirin kills my stomach and they keep doubling the ranitidine. I do wonder whether ticagrelor would be better but GP isn't willing to try it. In the year since my heart attack,the only time I felt really well was the first 3 weeks before the tablets kicked in properly.

Hi, what a lot of tummy tablets you’ve been through!

I too went through them all until I started taking gastro resistant aspirin tablets rather than dispersable. Problem solved.

Maybe worth a try?

Hi Crotchetwoman,(nearly read that wrong) thanks for your reply I have been told by others on here that Gastro-resistant aspirin doesn't work unless this is a different type, maybe worth a punt thank you be nice to get rid of this headache caused by one of the remedies, still while Aspirin is cheap they will keep using it
