I have been taking clopidogrel for 9 years and will stay on it for good.
Other than some dramatic bruises I have had no problems.
We are howevef all different and respond to medication differently.
Hi, I think if you check nice guidance omeprazole & clopidogrel are not recommended to take together due to interactions etc. I was switched from omeprazole to lansprosole because I take clopidgrel
I take clopidogrel and omeprazole and I'm fine. I think we are all different i the way we react to medication. My gp advised taking both of these was fine and I've been om with them. The aspirin is your blood thinner so maybe there is an alternative? I've been fine with aspirin. Good luck
My GP also confirmed that Clopidogrel and Omeprazole should not be taken together, after I had drawn his attention to it - just take a look on the NHS website it tell you on there.
I am currently on both. Following a medication review this is being looked at but they need to run some blood tests first. Omeprazole reduces the effect of Clopidogrel hence the change to Lansoprazole.
I am a bit confused why are you still on Aspirin if it has caused a stomach ulcer bleed? The cardiologist recommended I stay on Clopidogrel and drop the aspirin, despite slight problems with both I am happier on Clopidogrel as I was also getting Stomach aches and intestinal problems. The GP surgery had no problem swapping from one to the other after phone conversations, just mind the Omeprazole/Clopidogrel combination does not end up getting prescribed as has been pointed out by other members, I am on Pantoprazole with Clopidogrel.
Hello lateguitarist, I was please to see your post. I am having big problems with my meds with vomiting and nausea. Are you still okay with taking just Clopidogrel and not aspirin, I think it may be the aspirin that is causing so many problems. Many thanks for your help. Judi
