I’ve been on astrovsatin for last couple of years and noticed my joints are having problems, I try to exercise but seem to get repeated injures that stop it ( knee and now achielles heel) could this be linked to medication or am I just getting old , I’m 35?

Oh to be 35 again!! It’s possible that the joint pain might be linked to your Atorvastatin usage. There is a lot of info on the Internet from proper medical sites if you want to some research yourself. Alternatively, have a chat with your GP and see if can switch to another statin as that might help.

As mentioned by Steve ask your Doctor for an alternative statin. When my wife was put on statins she immediately started having joint and muscle pains. Her doctor switched her to an alternative and she has had no problems since (that was 3 years ago).

Do you take it at night? My husband was on statins before his heart attack and had joint and muscle pain, is now on atorvastatin which he takes before bed and no pains any more!
