Hello and welcome to the forum! I also suffer from CVD (cardio vascular disease) and PAD (peripheral arterial disease). Have you had a PAD diagnosis confirmed by Doppler and scans? Do you know which arteries are affected; femoral artery, popliteal artery, posterior tibial artery, anterior tibial artery or peroneal artery?
I believe PAD and CVD are connected so am interested in your diagnosis.
Bypass surgery obviously carries a risk but the first option for PAD where medication and exercise have not helped is angioplasty. A balloon is inserted to open up the artery and a stent may or may not be inserted. The most affected artery is usual the femoral one and this is a simple low risk procedure - probably lower risk than an angiogram. Access to the arteries below the knee may be trickier. Was angioplasty discussed/offered?
