Hi there I need some advice really. I have high beats per min and currently according to my fit bit I'm in exercise zone for 21 hours or more lately my heart rate doesn't seem to drop below 100. Im taking propranolol 80mg but this doesn't seem to be helping my heart according to my gp is healthy as had it monitored and a few ecgs apart from it beating fast there is no problems. My gp suggested i changed my antidepressants but I'm stable on these and have been on them a long time so don't fancy upsetting my depression? What does everyone think any advice would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum! Unfortunately some antidepressants such as SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) can interfere with the heart's electrical system causing an irregular or high (tachycardia) heart beat. I think you have to work with your GP on tackling this issue. It may mean a change in medication or a different therapy. A referral to a cardiologist may also be appropriate. Good luck!
