Due to have this on 17th on my LAD, as well as stent optimisation. Anyone had a pressure wire study? I’ve stopped reading anything about it because it’s scared me rigid in terms of what it can feel like and the risks! Going for pre-assessment tomorrow. The trouble is, most of the HCP you ask haven’t experienced cardiac issues so don’t know how it feels and I’ve never been a great fan of ‘this may be uncomfortable, translation: this will feel like several very hungry and irritable wolves are going to chew through a part of your body.

I have had it at the same time I had a stent in my LAD, they investigated two other areas - it was mildly uncomfortable but for seconds and I wouldn’t be concerned if I had to have it done again. The pre-talk frightened me to distraction but I suppose senses are heightened and I was terrified - it really wasn’t too bad and the staff are very reassuring.
Hello Sillyfroggy We are all different and react in different ways, so I can only let you know my experience. I had one done when I had a routine angio as part of work up for surgery. LAD 50%ish blocked, but had been same 5 years earlier. They explained the purpose was to establish whether the blood pressure on both sides of blockage was same or similar or whether blockage was causing drop in BP sufficient to warrant bypass. I hardly noticed it, although physical sensation of having run like Ussain Bolt whilst lying still rather odd. As with all procedures, the anticipation may be worse than the actual test itself. Good luck!
I had this done in April this year after having other tests this was the last one. I didn’t look into what it was or want to know. I just wanted a reason for being in so much discomfort and breathless.
Yes it’s uncomfortable but if you get answers then it’s worth the discomfort for they will put a stent in there and then if they can.
I had this done last Wednesday as part of a stent procedure. Feels a bit odd and I wouldn't worry about having it again - it concluded I had to have another two stents in the circumflex.
