KFC Looking at Plant Based Alternative

I saw this yesterday:

independent.co.uk/life-styl...

However, I doubt it will be a healthy alternative. Grilled chicken is quite healthy, fried chicken is not!

It seems that now there's a name for the guility food industry - "Big Food".

"Their profit is killing people."

It's also targetting new market: "unhealthy vegans".

I'm sure it's a response to one of these.

There's nothing healthy about fast food.

"Oh? Did I read that right?", Yes, you did!

But people don't want to know, right?

Just caught a glimpse of the Anthony Joshua fight on the news. Joshua looks like a premier athlete but was beaten by someone with a McD/KFC body. I won't be eating junk food anytime soon though! 😁

KFC - how can a company take a healthy food and turn it into a greasy chemical laden mush?

They may well go plant based, but it's not the base that's the problem, it's what they do to it.

Over ever been into a KFC once on a motorway services, never again!

I have a confession I am 55 years old and have never eaten KFC in my life. Am I a weirdo?

No! Have you had a McD's?

I have only been to KFC a couple of times. Last time I stormed out as the young guys serving decided to serve people who came in after me. I had been queueing quite a time as they were as coordinated as drunken solenodons!

No McDs either - Wimpey as a child loved them but hardly any around now 😕

Used to stop at one on the way to Wimbledon stock cars in the 70s! There is still one in Borehamwood.

The managing director of a company I used to work for had lunch in the local Wimpy every day & held his 50th birthday party there!

Think there was one in Wisbech. Again it was a stock car venue - the stadium is now a supermarket. Great Yarmouth was another venue and is one of only a handful of tracks still going.

Don't ever recall seeing one in Wisbech but think I know the supermarket you're referring to. There's also a 24hr gym there, that would definitely sort out my sleeping problems!!

One has just reopened in Hove apparently.

I did read they are expanding again with the intention of appealing to new customers as well of those of more mature years. A friend says the one in Borehamwood is less manic than a McD's, eat in is off a plate and there are healthier options. Time will tell if this works!
