What I don't like in this type of report is that they quote a raw number without saying how many fall into that age group. In reality without knowing that figure it it may be an increase, a decrease or stayed the same. OK I know I am being pedantic but it is the result of a scientific training. Also the way information is presented makes a vast difference, e.g. "Last year two cases of vampire butterfly disease were reported compared to only on the previous year" sounds a lot less serious than "100% increase in vampire butterfly disease"!

On a more serious note people are negating the progress made with drug development and developments in treatment by making the wrong lifestyle choices. How we tackle the obesity epidemic is unclear? The food industry needs to be made to take more responsibility. Techniques like pushing "meal deals" and "go big" are unhelpful as is promoting "free from" products as healthy when some are loaded with sugar and fat!

This was published on 13th May and gives more detail.

That's right.

SConcerned posted it on this Hub.

It seems nobody reads it except few folks on here.

Unsurprisingly, however.

How many are women who have been ignored/dismissed by Cardiologists.

I honestly do not understand this comment. Three women I know have had heart issues and all have been promptly and well treated under the NHS. Another I know had an issue with an ECG earlier this month and has a follow up appointment next Friday. When I was referred to the Urgent Chest Pain Clinic I was not seen for six weeks!

They were lucky, there are quite a few of us on the forum who have struggled to be taken seriously and it's well documented that women are treated differently, hysterical hypochondriacs !!

Prof Chris Gale BHF funded researcher has shown that women have a higher mortality following a heart attack

Many women are misdiagnosed with anxiety rather than a heart attack.

I hope the links below help in understanding why the BHF is campaigning for equality of care for women.

I think they deliberately do it when they are stressed as they are, trying to meet the NHS targets on their contract that is not going to be achievable if "high standard, quality care" is offered to every one of their patients. That's how some Doctors leave NHS.

Younger ones tend to listen and show positivity and express their willingness to support and help. Jaded mid-career Cardiologists are too stressed when a complex condition is involved.

On other hubs, patients actively network /provide a list of recommended doctors via charity/PM/email. That's how people get to see their preferred Doctors. Previously, I asked info on Prof C and then Prof C/K? Nobody seems to know. . .

I'm rather surprised by the lack of this on this hub, it seems that all the responsibility lands heavily on your shoulders.

I'm ashamed to say that I haven't read it. I have seen enough women speaking openly about their own experiences on other Hubs.

I'm still mulling over whether to complain or not based on my recent poor experience.

I hate spending time on negative stuff to pollute myself! The other lovely young Cardio was perfect..then "hell" followed up..

I have also seen some negative comments by Men on Cardiologists attitude.
