Hi

I take this medication and all has been ok my results have been between 5.8 and 4.1 how ever my plasma cholesterol was 7.2 has anyone experienced this before. Not sure why my statin has suddenly not dropped my cholesterol. I'm so tired and just having a shower makes me breathless. Not sure what plasma ALT is but that is abnormal and low. Any info will be great. Thanks

Often over time people's medication needs adjusting or changing for optimum results, e.g. whilst diet and exercise may improve cholesterol and BP just ageing has the opposite effect.

You were previously advised to seek medical advice about your breathlessness. Have you done so - a forum cannot sort this out.

Yes my GP thinks it's connected with a low haemaglobin result. I also suffer from left ventricular systolic dysfunction with reduced EF. Am waiting for a perfusion test. My cardiac nurse has asked me to also keep a food diary.

I currently only take 20mg of Rosuvastatin and I know they come in 40mg tablets.

Thanks again.

I was anemic post my quadruple. Iron tablets tend to have unpleasant side effects and alternative strategies were discussed. Basically I eat spinach at least twice or thrice a week, and liver every fortnight to three weeks. Liver should not be eaten more frequently because of its fat content. My levels are now back in the normal range. Might be worth a try but check if your GP is happy with this strategy.

Interesting! It shows you have to double check everything as u was given the impression it was on a par with streaky bacon!

Hi, I was increased from 10-20mg rosuvastatin and I have now stopped and referring back to my Doc and the UCL hosp in London that I am under, I felt constantly tired with no feeling to want to do, I did have these in a mild form on 10mg but now too much, not sure about breathless as I don't think that was a problem, however I am trying to find out more about this new method PCSK9 inhibitor but realise the cost is greater. wish you well.

Thanks KEN65. My cardiac nurse doesn't understand why previously I was fine and now they don't seem to be lowering my cholesterol. Hopefully by looking at my diet as well as medication I can get it sorted. Good luck with your search.
