So I was given metoprolol due to having a svt episode (180 heart rate and extremely high blood pressure). I take the extended release 25 mg and I been feeling dizzy and I also get palpitations. I don’t know if I should switch medicine or reduce the amount I have. Does anyone experience these symptoms? Please help.

I am sorry, that is horrible.

Please seek medical help. Metoprolol should stop palpitations (it does so effectively in me). It may be that metoprolol isn't right for you or something else. 25mg isn't a huge dose.

I wish you the best.

Thanks for replying! I went to the cardiologist yesterday and he told me I need to take it in the morning instead of at night and if my symptoms still happen then I need to be uped to 50 mg.

I still get palpitations but it’s every once in a while versus everyday. But my blood pressure has been low on the medicine so I don’t know if I should switch it or not. :/
