Hi, I’m new here - looking for some advice

Hi

I’ve just been discharged from Papworth after a heart attack and 2 stents being fitted. The nurses were great at explaining the drugs and when I need to take them but there are various abbreviations on my discharge form about what I’ve had done and presumably why, that no one has explained so far.

Is anyone able to shed any light on the following:

Inf. STEMI

Underwent angioplasty + PCI

LMS: N

LAD: Mild disease

LCx: Mild/Mod AV circumflex disease, large calibre vessel

RCA: Dominant occluded from mid vessel

PCI to RCA with drug eluting stent

I initially went to Peterborough hospital with chest pains, it was rather chaotic there and it was a number of hours before they decided to transfer me to Papworth where I immediately had the stents fitted. As I was originally told that I hadn’t had a heart attack and was in a lot of pain I am finding it difficult to get my head around what exactly happened and what it means. I’m hoping that understanding what the terms above mean would be a good start.

Hi . I had my heart attack 13 weeks ago & also feel vulnerable at times, the cardiologist nurses in my case (from heart failure team) are very helpful & supportive in any advice you require , hope this reassures you further .

Also at some point they will recommend that you attend their cardiac rehabilitation programme , you may also find this link below of some help

Your GP should talk you through the letter explaining as necessary. Failing that the excellent BHF nurses cab help.

Generally good. Mild heart attack and stent fitted in Nov. The usual issues getting the meds right. It’s never a straight line improvement. Now I’m back in the gym with lots of energy but just had a run of mild angina attacks using GTN spray so increasing isosorbide mononitrate dosage!
