Surgery update

Hi everyone.

Thank you all for your good advice when I posted my previous question.

Just to give yous all an update. My husband had his Mitral valve repaired yesterday afternoon. All went well. Just so. Happy that part is over. Now for the recovery.

Good news. He should improve daily and be able to do more each day. The important thing is not to overdo it as you pay for it next day.

Hi Johjoh

Glad the op went okay. You’ll find a great improvement over the first few days as all the tubes gradually get removed. My husband said I looked like death warmed up on day one, but the following day he reckoned I looked almost back to normal. Won’t be long before he is home and he can really start to recover. All the best to you both.

Thank you Wendy. It's been an emotional week with some setbacks: chest infection and post-op atrial fibrillation. But that seems to all have been fixed and he's doing very well.

He was lucky that the surgeon was able to do a keyhole surgery rather than having to break the breastbone so he should recover even quicker.
