I am reeling a little here. I was at work yesterday received a phone call from hubby. Surgeons Sec rang with a cancellation could hubby get to hsp ASAP. Mad dash by me from work pic hubby up. End result he is now in theatre having a quadruple bypass. Hope to get to see him tonight in ICU no what to expect as I am a nurse but completely different ball game when it’s your hubby in the bed. I have spent the day going from tears to coping.

it's the speed it has happened that has knocked your equilibrium but at least it's been done and the waiting is over. You'll be fine as will your hub. Best wishes and big hugs Xxx

Gosh. What a ride. I do hope he’s doing well and that you are feeling a little more steady. Take care. Best wishes Sara

That's one hell of a day you have had. I think in many ways your day to day experiences as a Nurse probably count for little at the moment when you are worried about your loved one. Hoping you have some news and peace of mind by now. Good vibes to you both.

W0ow, what a shock. Not surprised you are reeling but at least you haven't had weeks and weeks of cancellations and worry.

We had weeks of cancellations but hubby finally had his quad bypass last November and was home after 4 days. Those cancelled ops played havoc with both of us!!

He'll be fine. Just make sure you take care of yourself.

Let us know how you are both getting on xxxxx

You should probably try and look at it as a good thing as they found the problem in time. Sounds like he was one very small step away from a really bad outcome..

Nurse or not, that’s a scary lot to handle with it happening so quickly, hope it all goes well...

The speed of the op was a shock, you were not a nurse but a wife worrying, quite rightly, about your husband. My husband has recently had to support me through a double heart valve op so we kind of know what you've both gone through. I pray that your husband is making a good recovery and will be home in no time. God Bless xxx
