No I don’t think that’s normal.

Head to your emergency department asap

I would go and see someone to put your mind at rest- but some discomfort is actually normal. I have 5 stents and they did say with multiple stents you may experience some discomfort initially (which I did). Try not to panic though - your other reply was a little alarmist.

I think to avoid panic & a long wait at A&E, the level of pain is important. I had my Heart attack 4 months ago & still have shoulder, chest & back pain. I haven't once been to A&E or used my spray, mostly because the pains are sharp, but not instense & last a short time & can go by moving or hurt more if pressed. This means more likely muscular or Anxiety pains than heart pain, which have all centred around my chest since my HA. If the pains are more like those which occured during your heart attack or are persistent & intense then of course get to A&E or call a ambulance.

From my experience there is no 'advice' or rule of thumb for post HA pain & sadly some who will deny they even exist, however no one will tell you to ignore them, due to the potential liability, confusing.... Unfortunately it is down to you & building up an understanding of what pain is & what the pain means.

It's a long road to understanding pain & I'm not there yet & require other support to help me. But I've been discharged by my cardiologist after 3 months, so I have to believe it is o.k. But I'll tell you now, if a pain lasts for more than a few seconds, It still scares me like hell 😳. Good luck.

Hello, I had the same experience two weeks ago. I rushed to see my GP and they called an ambulance, I was back in the cardiac ward for treatment. The doctor visited me and said according to reading, everything is OK, nothing to worry about, I should not worry too much over my heart attack, just regard it as a past experience and start living a normal life, do the exercise. It may be that I think too much about pains and then imagine pains. But my heart is rest after the doctor has checked up and reported positive results

I had 2 stents and I did get chest pain which the rehab nurse said was normal as the stent takes a while to settles down. I had a lot of tension in my upper body where I was in a state of high alert. One thing that put my mind at rest was if I walked around it went away....in my mind this meant it couldn’t be my heart as the pain would have got worse if my heart was under pressure. Have you got the GTN spray?

As mentioned before, it can be different for everyone but if you are really concerned you should go to your GP....blood pressure is a good indicator of anything sinister going on. If it’s a crushing pain then you should try the GTN spray and if that doesn’t work go to A&E, this was the advice given to me when I left hospital.

It’s hard not to worry I know.
