Serum Urea Levels/Serum Creatinine

Just a question anyone know if the higher levels of the above are/can be as result of Heart Medication. Just seen mine at Urea 11.1Mnol/L and Creatinine 110 umol/L thanks

I gave regular kidney function tests because of long term diabetes. Your creatinine level is within the normal range. I cannot comment on the urea level as I know less about it but would think because of your creatinine level your kidneys are fine.

Besides diabetes and infections the biggest risk to kidneys is BP. If on statins your liver function should also be checked regularly.

Was surprised that my GP asked for a repeat in 4 weeks time !!!

Often tests are repeated if there is a change from previous levels to see if there is a trend. Are you on statins? Also did you have other blood tests done at the same time. I had one repeated for iron levels (was anemic after surgery) but the main blood test was for liver function following the quadrupling of my statin dose, again post surgery. Often rushed GPs will not convey the full story.

Hi Michael

I have changed Candesartan up from 8mg to 16mg and progressing up to 32mg and Bisoprolol up from 7.5 to 10mg My statin is Pravastatin 10mg.
