What can I do?

You need to discuss this with your GP - A meaningful diagnosis is beyond the remit of an unseen and shot in the dark prognosis. You will feel so much better once you have a professional answer. Your GP should see you immediately when you mention your BP and concerns. Good luck to you

See your GP. I had exactly the same shock as you on Monday. Mine was 155/95. I'd bought a monitor and checked it at home for a day at got 160/100 readings. I got really anxious, went to the Docs and he measureed it at180/110! He wants to put me on tablets for life, but i persuaded him to let me monitor it for a week 1st. By exercise and meditation before the readings, i've managed to get most below 135/95 so i'm hopefull i can talk him out of the tablets which can mess with your kidneys. I'm thin, fit and dont smoke or drink, and i have a good diet so lifestyle measures cant be improved.

Your lower figure is too high (should at least be 80 or below) . Sometimes there is no alternative to medication if you want to avoid issues going forward. As many here have found you can do all the right things yet still develop heart disease.

Call 111 for advice; now.

This morning I went to the gym, the heart rate was 110, came home did gardening as it is sunny. After lunch checked my BP, 129/84, heart rate 127.

I need to understand why I had high BP for three days. My GP may not want to waste his or her time!!!

If the 127 heart rate was after relaxing and having lunch it seems rather to high to me. You need to see your GP.

I start at 88 and goes up to 130. After half an hour and cooling the heart rate is 92, the machines are not calibrated. This is the first time I checked BP after lunch. I will be doing more checks after lunch!

I'm surprised at how much BP varies and be changed by state of mind. It seems wrong that one can be prescribed medication for life based on such a variable and unreliable measure. For example i've been measuring mine over last few days and i can change it myself by mood between 180/102 and 127/84 !!!! I really don't want to take the pills if i can possible avoid it.

Yes, I agree, I do not want to take nay medication either. When I use machines it gives heart rate, I start at 88 and goes up to 130. After half an hour and cooling the heart rate is 92, the machines are not calibrated. I do not know haw human body reacts to short time high BP? I am looking for answers.

Your heart rate does seem high given you are rested.Mine is normally 55-59 resting for example. I would see you GP & try relaxing before tests by slow, deep breathing in and out, and total rest.
