I am very lonely, I had a heart attack 17 years ago for which I had no treatment. I have also had a stroke 4 years ago, I received no treatment for this. the medical profession as got in for me, as I am worthless and have no friends to talk too. My parents did not care, they are dead now. I feel so ill and weak I am wondering if someone would like to talk to me via this website. I welcome replies.

Hello and welcome to the forum! I think it would be useful for you to talk to the BHF nurses on 0300 330 3311 as they have considerable experience in these matters.

You have had a HA and a stroke? Has any reason been given for not treating you? What did doctors say at the time?

Hi Millie sorry you are feeling this way. Go and speak to your GP book a double apt. Ask to be referred to a councillor it may help to talk about how you are feeling. Maybe look into what's going on in your area see if there is something you can join to meet people and try new things. Wishing you well and good luck xxx

Hi. Do you use Facebook at all Millie? There are some wonderful groups on there that you can post to and discuss all aspects related to Heart health etc etc. I use the British Hearties group (open to all not just British) - and you can ask questions, see others experiences and generally talk to people who are going through similar things. Hello sarah. I am so sorry you feel this way. I can understand your feelings as i have been very depressed myself since a recent heart diagnosis. One of my biggest problems is also trying to find someone to talk to as i live alone. I do visit with some family members but it is so difficult to even get motivated. I have cardio rehab twice a week and no other social life but looking to do other things. You need to push at your doctors or a and e to get some treatment or help. You need something to look forward to or holiday or a break somewhere to make you feel better. Do you have friends or family to talk to? Regards Jim

Hi Millie

You seem to be doing pretty (lived a long time) well without any treatment, so well done. Forgive me saying the obvious, but you should goo out even if it's just locally for a coffee.

Take care. C
