Had a heart attack in February this year and have had 2 stents. Is it normal that when I talk a lot I get aching in my chest and throat feels sore. Has anyone else suffered with this.

Heart attack and aching chest
Hello
Sometimes things need time to settle down and it could be what you need more time but in the meantime either talk with youR rehab nurse contact your consultants secretary or Doctor and just get the ok from them , I am sure everything will be fine but always best to hear it from the professionals x
Thanks, I’ve done this and my rehab physio said the same about things settling down and so did the GP. Also told my cardiologist secretary and have an appointment end of September, thanks
I am sure they must feel this is normal then or they would have you back quicker It is hard not to focus on what we can feel after such a big event and feel peterbubed but if they are not then try and just see it as been ok
Soon be your appointment start making a list of everything you want to ask , always good to do that and make the most of these appointments we wait for x
Good idea making a list. Thanks
Havnt experienced this I'm afraid. Best to talk with your gp or cardio.rehab nurse to have a professional opinion as it could be a number of different things.
Thanks, I’ve done this got an appointment with cardiologist end of September
Totally with you Magic! Had my HA aged 45 and super fit last December, have had lots of pains since. Been back in hospital five or six times but none of those have been a ‘cardiac event’… so what is it? The pains are irregular. Sometimes really hurt other times annoying. Sometimes in chest others in neck and shoulder. Sometimes while lying sometimes whilst sitting! Have been given painkillers but they don’t always work. Can’t get a GP appointment this summer for love nor money but I do have a cardiologist phone call coming up so need to ask him lots about it- both prevention and cure! Sorry it doesn’t help answer tour query but it shows that it does happen to others too and isn’t that rare. I’m 8 months on and wanted to be shot of this by now but just having to live with a ‘new normal’ I guess
The GP said the same that this might be your new normal, as BP heart rate etc all good and ECG when exercising is good. I hope your pains become manageable, take care
Hi, I had a heart attack in April, 3 stents fitted, I’ve had aches and pains in different areas of my body each and every day since especially in my neck which also makes my throat hurt, I cough and the sneeze straight away afterwards. Went to the doctors who said it was acid reflux which I take medication for! I think the aches and pains are something we have to live with but definitely worth asking questions.
Thanks it’s reassuring to know others are experiencing the same, you just feel very alone and paranoid.
Yep - they even referred me to ENT who said it was acid reflux and gave me more Lansoprazole. That didn't work. But I can tell you what did! As my ability to actually do any exercise at all declined, I eventually insisted on a referral back to cardiology. The end result of that was another stent!! And, spookily enough, no more throat / upper chest issues!
So yes, have a word with cardiology! Best wishes.
Yes had a sore throat throughout the HA and days afterwards. Pains after for years post ha. Hope your well
