Following my operation on Friday afternoon my surgeon told if it wasn't for my INR level I could have gone home today! But now he says probably Monday.
I was lucky, any further delay would have been to late for me, he said it was worse than anyone thought. But once I get home my new life starts . Thank you from the bottom of my heat to everyone for your thoughts and messages ❤❤

Well done mate, your positive attitude is great and will enhance your recovery. Perhaps your new life will include learning to breakdance, or line dance now you have a new lease of life!!! Take care and keep us posted on your journey, Sue x
I was the same when I had my Aortic Valve replacement. Had to stay in hospital bit longer due to problems with blood & INR levels. Since being home for 5 weeks I have had no problems. Keep the positive attitude and take each day as it comes 😁
Just relax and enjoy the extra care. You are well on the road to recovery and all the hard stuff is in the past and as it can't be changed then just let it go.
Glad it is looking good! I had a few extra days as I developed an electrolyte imbalance and BGs were all over the place (I blame the sliding scale). I think everyone is given best case scenario but a good percentage need an extra few days for whatever reason. I have my pre-rehab assessment (had quadruple) next week. Your rehab will come around before you know it.
So pleased you have a date to see the cardiologist fudge and really glad I have helped with the mental anguish of waiting. If at anytime I can offer any help or advice or answer any questions no matter how trivial, please ask. Good luck ❤
Great to see you doing so well really pleased for you and keep going .. home soon. My op that was due on Tuesday has now been postponed until mid September
Sorry to hear that Mark, it’s so frustrating isn’t it. I got cancelled twice on the day I was due to go in, the next time I managed to get in a bed for the night and was then cancelled just before the nurse gave me my pre-med. Hopefully your op goes ahead next time - at least the weather might be a bit cooler, gets warm on the wards!
Looking good! Glad to hear your doing well, I ended up staying longer the second time because I had to have a pacemaker installed after getting heart block. They won’t keep you any longer than they need to - they want your bed! Say hi to the lovely staff there.
You'll be fine Roamie, when people kept telling me that I thought do you want to swap places. My experience of the whole thing I took in my stride, from going to theatre, recovery, and on the ward. I was lucky to have other patients who shared my sense of humour and before you know it ,you're back home. Good luck for tomorrow, I'll be with you in spirit ❤
Thank you for your kind comments. I am afraid I seem to have a severe case of stage/theatre fright! My partner and our son will be there to help me through, thank goodness.
I had almost 3 years of stage fright but once I was admitted a calm came over me. Your family will help you through this stage, trust me, you will be fine and home before you know it ❤❤
They let me out on Saturday afternoon so I'm on my second day at home and the journey back to fitness. It has all gone so quickly. I hope you find it the same and when you get home we can swap stories
I had a quadruple bypass. When I went in the expectation was six days but it became eight after a few issues but the main one was an electrolyte imbalance. I think most people are given best case scenarios but as they are carrying out major surgery on people with health problems there will always be a percentage of complications. No wonder they need bed managers.
I was admitted the afternoon before and had various checks like bloods, an ECG, etc. The calm and professional manner in which this was done took away the nerves that had started on the car journey in. This approach carried on through to the next day and I did not need a happy pill! Next thing you wake in ICU and the recovery begins.
The staff throughout on my preop morning were superb, friendly and professional, so I'm hoping that I'll calm tomorrow when I arrive at 8 in the morning for 12.30 (all being well).
