Hi, I’m not sure where to post this, but would my blood pressure being this low justify me feeling so tired/dizzy/blurry/confused??
Nothing has been found wrong with my heart, I’m waiting for more tests.
Thanks in advance
Jo

Hi depends on your usual BP but I would say it's low maybe worth calling 111
It can go to around 100/70, but no higher, and when it’s like that I feel ok.
When it drops I feel terrible.
I didn’t think it justified calling 111 unless I fainted.
Maybe go get it checked at doctors If you feel ill I would go walk in centre rather than Aand E Are you drinking at least 2 litres of fluid per day especially in hot weather maybe more
I brought a BP monitor some years ago and couldn't make sense of the results. After doing a check with the GP it turned out to randomly reading both high and low. Getting a refund was a bit of an effort!
nhs.uk/Tools/Pages/blood-pr... is a link for chart off NHS Web site for blood pressure readings Hope it's a help
My bp sits around this at times but I'm on meds to lower heart rate. Don't know if that effects bp too
Hi, I would have thought that whether your readings are dangerousy low or not, the important point is that you say you ate feeling tired/dizzy/blurry/confused. Such symptoms are not normal and should be investigated, and soon. I experienced a sudden severe drop in my BP recently to 90/50 at the same time experiencing dizziness and blurred vision - all due to the addition of another BP medication (I usually have very high, difficult-to-treat BP).
Yes looks low so could lead to the symptoms you mention
Morning Jo, I would increase your intake of water - it's surprising just how much than can bring your BP up. Also increasing your salt intake a little could help. I use sea salt for cooking and Himalayan mountain salt for use on food at the table. At one time we were all told to avoid salt, but that theory seems to be changing now (except of course in you have high blood pressure).

Thank Jean. I’m drinking as much water as I possibly can, and have upped my salt too on the advice of the doctor. It’s not made much of a difference for me, but I will keep it up. I am always thirsty, no matter how much I drink!
I expect you've been checked for diabetes, as always feeling thirsty is a symptom. Are you on any medication?
If i were you I would want to ask Dr Sanjay Gupta of York Cardiology. He has a Facebook page and will answer you back if he can think of something that may help and his advice is all free. He genuinely cares about people and wants to help as many people as he can. He also has a lot of helpful videos on YouTube, but don't forget it's the one in York, England and not the one in the US.

Just to throw something else into the mix. Do you take your BP in the same place each time or have you tried other sites? Reason for asking is if done on my upper arms then Left or Right give different results - normally take the LH to be correct - drives our Practice Nurse mad.
Thanks - I’ve got a wrist monitor, and alternate wrists - I’ll try and keep to one side.
Our doc has told us the wrist bp is not very reliable. The cuff machine is by far more accurate. When you take you bp be seated, be sure your legs are not crossed but flat on the floor, and have the arm with the cuff has close to heart level as possible. My husband’s blood pressure was also low so the doc asked him to take it 3 times in a sitting, with 5 minute intervals in between taking. Then take the average of the 3 readings. It is interesting how the readings changed during that 15 minutes.
Your symptoms however seem to be more important than the bp readings. Please see your GP. You don’t want a fall or serious accident due to fainting.
Great that you take and record tour bp every day it really will help your doc! My hubby also records his weight and pulse. These are 2 important things that together with the history symptoms help a doc put the puzzle together more accurately and solve the problem.
The cuff monitors typically also will show your pulse rate as well as your bp readings.
Stay strong and get in to see the doc with the data you have.
Yours From Across the Pond
Mine also low sometimes due to medication for lowering BP as well as heart rate.It goes as low as 95/75 and it makes me dizzy and feel like fainting.Trying to control by take more salty food and take less medicine
I was told not to go below 90 top figure. My meds we’re bringing it to low and making me dizzy. Revisit your Docs
im in a similar position at the moment, except that mine norm 128/86 ish keeps dropping down under 100/70 and l am getting dizzy to the point of blacking out. Friday gone it dropped to 84/61! did a 111 who passed it to 999 because it shouldnt be that low. l do have heart issues but even so at that level you should do a 111
Thanks for your reply. I feel like I might pass out, but with a business and 2 kids I just push through it. I feel like a bit of a fraud, as I haven’t actually fainted, and my heart check was all clear.
Just gone up to 8mg Candersartan from 6mg incredible how just a 2 mg change can drop your Blood Pressure. 66/61 today pulse 54, last week 156/85 pulse 60.
Think a lot depends on what's wrong with you Blocked Artery, Heart Failure etc lots of things can affect BP.

I had an echocardiogram last week, and my heart is fine - I’m not on any meds at all so I know it’s not that 😕
lets hope 66/61 was a typo or your sitting in hospital as we speak frank. systolic of 66 is dangerous so is a gap of less than 20.
when l woke up mine was 99/70, from what l have had said to me in the past, this is ok, sleep, rest and lying down. 20min after taking meds 107/74 again bottom end of ok but it shows its not the morning meds
H Jo,
This blood pressure reading is low as I would say anything below 90/50 is. Your symptoms may relate to low blood pressure and you should discuss this with your GP. If you feel severely dizzy then do not hesitate to seek medical attention and call 111.
Take care,
Emily
Thanks for everyone’s replies. Interestingly I’ve doubled up my B12 tablets and my bp has risen. Hoping it stay that way!
