I had a heart attack last year and subsequently had 3 stents fitted. I’m feeling better, and am no longer breathless. I have also had tests for adrenal insufficiency, and I don’t make very much cortisol. Since being tested, my BP is averaging 105/43. I don’t feel unwell from it, but I’m aware it’s very low and wondered if anyone else now has low BP.

thank you Brave-heart1. It’s quite scary having a HA, so I’m glad I feel better.
oh yes definitely try to give them up. You do so much to help yourself, but that one thing could undo your good work. I stopped and it was surprisingly easy for me. I don’t even miss them and just stopped, I didn’t need patches or gum.
I’m sure you’ll be able to stop when you make that decision. I’ll be willing you to do the right thing ☺️. No judgement though, we all do things that aren’t good for us.
My husbands bp is normally 90 something over 60 - if his systolic is over 100 we celebrate. He feels fine, his bp has just always been low and since his HA and heart failure meds it’s very low. Every health professional he meets comments on his low bp with concern and it drives him up the wall 😂 If it’s normal for you and you feel fine then I don’t see a problem 😊 I would focus more on consistency - if there is a sudden change then contact your GP.
I haven’t had a cigarette for over 4 1/2 years. Although people say well done , I still struggle with this. When I had my heart attack I promised my children I wouldn’t smoke again. Every time I think about cigarettes I just think back to that night and remember seeing how petrified my children were.
So definitely no judgment from me as unless you have smoked people don’t realise how hard it is to stop. Good luck x
It is very likely that you still think of yourself as a smoker, even after four and a half years. Have you considered shifting to becoming a non-smoker. With that positive move you may feel that putting it all behind takes away all the stress of thinking about it. I know someone who is a former smoker and went on a course about 3-4 years back in an effort to stop, and that was one of the core parts of the strategy i.e.think of yourself as a non-smoker from the first day of not smoking, which he has done and its now all part of his past. I gave up decades ago but do remember trying a fag about 10 years after I stopped out of curiosity and after two puffs that was enough. It was disgusting and I wondered why I had even started in the first place. I am not suggesting you try the same but it certainly demonstrated to me that I had unquestionably done the right thing in stopping.
I don’t see myself as a smoker at all. I stopped in 2017.
good point Lowerfield 😃I’ll will definitely say I’m a non smoker . Like I mentioned I sometimes do think of cigarettes. Although when I smell them I think nah not for me.
After I started on bisopralol after my HA , mine went so low. I couldn't even get out of the chair and slept almost 24/7. The bisopralol dropped it far too low. I rang GP and got it changed. Time for a word with yours about your meds.
BorderTerrier100 mine sit around 102/58 I feel ok..I already had a low BP post stent ..since for EF and heart I am taking bisoprolol and peridndropl low dose and it drop to even 98 after exercise. My cardiologist thinks it's ok as long as you don't get symptoms like dizziness etc. But my Cardiac nurse says too low is not good either..mix info. Still trying to figure out how low is ok.
