Drained.....

Ok, so I went out last night to see an ABBA tribute band, I had a few drinks, sang my little heart out ( no pun intended) and danced my socks off....... today I feel blooming awful, feel like a washed out rag! Is this normal? Have I over done it a bit? I have DCM and was only diagnosed 6 months ago, so not sure if this is normal for me or not. I’d be so grateful of any advice xx

I have DCM and am on various medications. I know that I aren’t up to having a night out like that at the moment ☹️. I suspect you’ve probably overdone it.

Me too in all honesty, just hope I feel ok to go to work tomorrow 🙁

I dare say it sounds like you had a great and memorable time. Don’t feel so guilty. Honestly after attending an ABBA concert even without any heart issues I’d feel drained too.

This too shall pass but suggest you don’t make it a regular part of your exercise program.

Like our Doc says enjoy your special occasions - just don’t make them an every day occurance!

I love ABBA it must have been a blast.

Questionable music tastes aside, sounds like you had a great night and today is payback. I think most of us hearties have that problem. I’m never sure if it’s the beer or the exercise or a combination of the two. I certainly find I can’t drink like I used to and it takes me far longer to recover from the few I do have ,than it used to.

CONGRATULATIONS, BRILLIANT, YIPPEE. I am so glad you had a great night out, and yes you are suffering today, but heck why not. All you need from now on is to prioritize your activities, if you plan a big night out, and believe me you should, it is part of living, then make sure you have a recovery day after. I have done this for years, and I don't miss out on much at all. It is the only way to stay sane, and it is well and truly worth it. Good going proud of you.

Thanks! Was a really good night, and it’s not like I do it often, but i can’t remember feeling this bad since prior to my diagnosis 😔

It sounds like the great time you had was worth any drained feelings you have today. Just rest up and think of your great night out.

Enjoy your life and do what you can. Maybe just cut back on the alcohol when out but dance etc then have a rest day after.

I wanted to go to see Dr Feelgood in about six weeks time. Problem is the venue that is usually seated with dancing in the aisles and in front of the stage is all standing this time. Doubt I will be up to over two hours standing by then. Bizarre as the fan base are now maturing!
