It depends who you believe. If you believe those who sell it, it’s the best thing since sliced bread. To the clinical fraternity, it’s a bit more ‘the jury is out’. There isn’t a lot of unequivocal clinical evidence that cq10 supplements work, but there is some that suggests it does. As I said, depends who you believe

Hi

My cardiac rehab nurse recommended it to me. So I tried it for a month, made absolutely no difference as far as I was concerned. Of course may work for others. No tablet works for everyone, as far as I can see.

Hope it works for you

I started taking it as soon as I started Lipitor and haven’t had any Lipitor issues. Can’t say if it works or doesn’t but not willing to take risk of stopping use and having statin side effects. I take middle dose. Of 200mg. I’ve seen pills, of 100/200/400 mg.

I was recommended CoQ10 when I was started on Simvastatin and experienced bad muscle pains. It made no difference and the pains only ceased when I changed to Atorvastatin and did not come back when the CoQ10 ran out.

My conclusion was that it was ineffective and expensive!

Personally I wasn't prepared to put up with the awful problems with muscle pain caused strangely by Atorvastatin. My GP and Cardio say there is a statin out there for everyone so it's worth going down that road rather than taking supplements which may not work. I now take Rosuvastatin with no problems
