Finally my cardiology appointment has come through. September 20th. Only taken them 10 months. It worries me because when I got the severe chest pains and was rushed to a&e in November. They weren't sure if I'd had a mild heart attack. Went back a week later with a dull ache in my chest still, gp said sounds like a heart attack and Stepping Hill hospital said I MIGHT have angina. Was given the spray and sent home. No info about angina. Just spray twice under tongue and that was it. Not even how long to leave it under my tongue for. Xxx

The BHF has this information about angina and how to use a GTN spray.

I hope your appointment goes well next week.

Perhaps write down a list of your questions to take with you to the appointment?

oh dear not too good! NHS under pressure!

Meanwhile, you are in control of everything else about you : diet, exercise, and so on. Tell yourself that YOU are in charge and patiently wait,

You could phone the cardiac nurses - details on the BHF website.

I know they're under pressure and I do feel for them. It's just not good that neither Manchester Royal Infirmary or Stepping Hill know what's going on. Thank you hun. X

I feel for you. It took ten months for me to get a face to face at Macclesfield last year although I did get a telephone appointment in the middle of that.

I’m waiting for a follow up from being in hospital in June - they said that would be 6 weeks and it’s currently been 11 weeks :-(

As others say, make the most of your appointment - take a list of questions and maybe someone else with you too so you don’t miss anything. Good luck.

Hi,Did you jage blood tests to determine tropinin levels? That is the only way they cam be sure you've had a heart attack.

I've just looked at my NHS app. It only shows my C Reactive Protein on the day I was rushed in and same again when I went back a week later. Thank you though. x
